"Blind bug" is a project about our perception of people, the manipulated it can be for our society, an exploration of the other senses, etc.
The social experiment (it takes 7 minutes) consists in dating two people who don't know each other in a room with their eyes blind and they can't talk. They will be communicating each other by the other senses we usually ignore, and afterwards it will be an individual interview where they will explain their feelings (it takes about 30 minutes on the whole).
I will also add other variations of the experiment: the two volunteers they will be looking each other into the eyes and they couldn't talk, and the opposite one, they will be able to talk but not to see. It will be also unnecessary they didn't know each other before.
At the end I will make a video recompilation of the experiences.
- Main ideas:
· There is another way of using our senses?
· Why we never use at the time of meeting a new person the senses of touching, smelling and tasting?
· How much our society control our sense of eye sight? (appearance)
· How our superficial education affect our relation with people? (empty conversations, correct topics)
· The words, the stories we tell about ourselves, make us being closer or distant?
· There is another way of connecting with people around us?
- Main aims:
· To create a safe space where people can interact without the pressure of the "real life".
· To make people aware that other ways of connecting are possible. If they experiment it by their owns, they will have a clearer opinion about it.
· Share the experience with the rest of the world making a video.
· Experimenting this way of meeting people probably will make you have different ideas about people.
